Join the
Shreveports Symphony Orchestra for music from the masters in seven
powerful concerts. Maestro Kermit Poling and guest conductors will
lift the baton at 7:30pm on Saturdays. Free pre-concert lectures given
by the Symphony's own Principal Cellist, Paul Christopher, start at
6:30pm prior to each concert.
This season
features chamber ensembles. Starting in October, we bring you five
romantic concerts in the beautiful setting of Anderson Auditorium
in the Hurley School of Music, located on the Centenary College campus,
except where noted.
The Shreveport
Symphony Orchestra maintains a high level of community outreach activities,
including educational concerts and presentations, special constituency
concerts, and library concerts.
Together
with the Community Foundation of Shreveport-Bossier, the Shreveport
Symphony Orchestra is proud to present two annual concerts free of
admission, The People's Concert and The Picnic Pops. Annual fund-raisers
to benefit the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra include the 2003 Feel
the Power car raffle and the Constellation Ball.
The capability
to reach out to audiences throughout the Ark-la-Tex region is one
of the many versatile features of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra.
