Louisiana Association of Symphony Orchestras

The Louisiana Association of Symphony Orchestras (LASO) was formed in August 2003 and is comprised of all seven professional orchestras in Louisiana. The mission of the LASO is to promote and facilitate the interchange of ideas, advocate for the support of orchestras in the State, and coordinate collaborative projects in music education and other areas of mutual interest.
Contributing $8.2 million to Louisiana’s economy each year, the seven Louisiana orchestras of LASO reach over 172,000 people annually, including over 42,000 students through more than 320 concerts (22% of which are free to the public). We employ 539 professional musicians and staff, utilize over 1,700 volunteers and provide performing opportunities for over 1,100 student and community musicians.
As a member orchestra of LASO, Shreveport Symphony subscribers enjoy ticket exchange privileges with all seven LASO orchestras. Exchange tickets are subject to the host orchestra’s availability and special events are excluded. Please contact the SSO box office at 227-TUNE (8863) for more information.
LASO members: Acadiana Symphony Orchestra (Lafayette), Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (New Orleans), Monroe Symphony Orchestra, Rapides Symphony Orchestra (Alexandria) and Shreveport Symphony Orchestra.
