Link Up: The Orchestra Moves

Riverview Theatre, 600 Clyde Fant Pkwy

Part of the

Student Discovery Concert Series

A interactive concert experience presented by the SSO and Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute for students in grades three through five

By any definition, music moves. As organized sound, music moves through time and space, from high to low, creating patterns and motifs. Composers and performers use expressive qualities to move us emotionally. Music also compels us to move physically and is embodied in many kinds of dance.

Carnegie Hall's Link Up program pairs orchestras with students in grades 3-5 at schools in their local communities, giving students the opportunity to learn about, listen to, and perform great music. Students participating in Link Up explore an interactive curriculum in which they learn to sing and play an instrument in the classroom before performing with the orchestra form their seats at the concert.
